I’ve Been Busy, That’s Why!

Have you missed me!? I took on a new challenge and needed to dedicate more time to it.  So my poor travel blog got sidelined for a few!

I’m taking three on line courses to get my real estate License. I’ve been working i nthe industry already for over 5 years but it has become apparent that there is so much more I can do within my current job if I held that license!

Having to learn to “STUDY” has been a challenge in itself and I am half way there! My goal is to take the test prior to my upcoming Euro trip in May!  I’d love your support so please send me your good vibes!

New Year, new look for the Blog!

Well, I’ve been wanting to change my blog “theme” for ages but held back for over 2 years because frankly, I don’t know much about the inner workings of Word Press and thought for sure, I’d lose everything I worked to build up!

I finally just decided to go for it this morning and found this one! I’ll tweak it a bit more when I have time but for now, I like the freshness of it.  What do you think? Any tips or ideas for improvement?

Getting Lost in Emporio

I’d like to get lost here too!

A Big Life

Emporio makes you work a little bit, like many of the old villages on the island. Firstly, you have to get past what you see when you go whizzing through it on a quad bike. You have to realise that isn’t it. You have to park, find the sign for the traditional village and follow it until you see the hand written sign for ‘castle’. You may have to ask some locals on the way, check you are going in the right direction. Once on track, you have to go looking for its colours (which you will mostly find on doors). You have to climb its steps and get lost in its narrow, winding paths to find the eccentric cafe with fresh strawberry ice cream. You have to get lost in the remains of its big castle, a castle that people now live in behind those coloured doors.

We stayed within a mile of this quaint lake area n asked our Bed n breakfast host if there were any hiking trails nearby that weren’t too strenuous , as we had our 14 yr. old with us n had about an hour to enjoy the great outdoors ! This is beautiful Lake Siskyou in the morning

Boss man in Europe!

My boss is on his first ever Europe trip and took his lovely wife and two college aged kids. Lucky them! I am green with envy!  Here is a bit of his electronic postcard to me:

” Amsterdam is beautiful and awesome at the same time!  We went on a tour through the Red Light district, the Anne Frank house, the Van Gough museum, the Heineken museum/tour, and have done a lot of walking.  I absolutely love all the canals and narrow brick streets, and architecture, as well as the quaint little restaurants and bars.  The bread here is incredible. “

Dont’cha just love sensing someone’s excitement over a destination that is new to them!?  I do!

How to Stay Chic While Packing Light

wow, this a great reference guide on how to pack well and look good when you get there!

Colesville Travel's Weblog

When you pack light, there is a constant battle between what to take and what not to take. Usually, a backpack or small suitcase will only have enough room to accommodate the essentials when it comes to clothes. When you’re travelling, the essentials are comfortable clothes that are easy to wash, can be worn wrinkled and are versatile. This doesn’t leave a lot of room for nicer clothes . . . or does it?

Unless you’re a hiker, chances are that there will come a time during your travels when you’ll need to wear something a little nicer or fancier than usual. While on vacation, you may want to indulge in a nice dinner or visit a lounge and you certainly do not want to go out looking like a bum or dressed inappropriately.  So, I have put together a few fashion tips, for the ladies only, for the weary…
